Small claims for your business, filed for you
Key takeaways
$99 to start. $299 through the hearing. No cut of what you recover.
Included: demand letter, follow-up, petition, filing, service and a hearing pack.
The letter goes out once we have your invoice. Court dates depend on the county.
We are not a law firm. Someone from your business attends the hearing.
Who is this for?
Small businesses in Texas, Florida and Georgia with an invoice the customer has stopped answering about. Contractors, agencies, freelancers, landscapers, IT shops, wholesalers. The amount is too big to write off and too small for a lawyer's hourly rate, and it sits under the state small claims limit: $20,000 in Texas, $15,000 in Georgia, $8,000 in Florida.
How does it work?
- Send us the invoice. Upload the invoice, the contract or accepted quote and any emails about payment.
- We send the demand letter. Written from your documents, sent by email and certified mail, followed up.
- If they still do not pay, we prepare the claim. The right court, the customer's legal name, the petition and the exhibits.
- We file and arrange service. Through the court's e-filing portal or clerk, with a constable, sheriff, marshal or process server.
- You attend the hearing with a pack we prepare. Documents in order, a short outline and the questions to expect.
What does it cost?
| Stage | Price |
|---|---|
| Start: demand letter and follow-up | $99 |
| Through the hearing: filing, service, hearing pack | $299 in total |
| Court filing and service fees | At cost, paid to the court |
| Attorney letterhead on the demand letter | Optional |
| Collection steps after a judgment | Quoted separately |
No cut of what you recover. Court fees vary by county; see how to file small claims for examples.
Why not a collection agency?
An agency usually takes a percentage of what it collects. For a business with a clear invoice and a customer who is simply not paying, a flat fee and a court judgment can leave more in your pocket. An agency can still be the better fit for large volumes of small consumer debts. We compare the two plainly in collection agency vs small claims.
What we will not do
- We are not a law firm and do not give legal advice.
- We do not appear in court for you. Someone from your business attends the hearing.
- We do not promise an outcome. The judge decides.
- We do not take claims over the state small claims limit.

Questions, answered
Can a business file in small claims court?
Yes. Businesses file small claims cases every day to collect unpaid invoices. In Texas a company can be represented by an owner, officer, partner or employee, and Georgia magistrate courts allow you to appear with or without an attorney. Check the representation rules in your state before the hearing.
What is the small claims limit for a business?
The same limit applies to businesses and individuals. Texas justice courts hear claims up to $20,000. Georgia magistrate courts hear up to $15,000. Florida small claims covers up to $8,000, not counting costs, interest and attorney's fees. Above the limit, the claim goes to a higher court with fuller procedure.
How much does small claims cost a business with Easy Small Claims?
It is $99 to start, which covers the demand letter and follow-up. If the customer still does not pay and you go to court, the total is $299 through the hearing. Court filing and service fees are passed through at cost. Collection steps after a judgment are quoted separately. We take no cut of what you recover.
Do I have to go to the hearing?
Someone from your business needs to attend, in person or by video where the court allows it. We are not a law firm and cannot appear for you. We prepare a hearing pack with your documents in order and a short outline, so the person who goes knows what to say and what to hand the judge.
